This product is made from Scandinavian and New Zealand wool. Wool is mulesing-free, from appropriately certified spinning mills. All yarns are spun and dyed in Europe in accordance with the REACH standards (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals). They meet the OEKO-TEX certificate.
This blanket is made by the Finnish weaving mill Lapuan Kankurit. This was founded in 1917 in Lankilankoski near Lapua. The company owner Esko Hjelt runs his company with his wife Jaana in the fourth generation.
Note for the reenactors: Even though these blankets have a diamond twill pattern, they are made using the jacquard weaving technique on modern looms. It was not until 1785 that the Englishman Edmund Cartwright invented the first mechanical loom of this type.
